The terror alert nonsense has stirred up a lot of strong emotions in me. And I was just wondering: When did you realize the terror warnings were bullshit?
Of course, I'd like to say I was suspicious all along. But, I admit, when we were at RED in March 2003, I was a little spooked. But I can't really pinpoint when I started calling bullshit on it. I remember sometime in Fall 2002 thinking it would be a nice experiment with correlation to track approval ratings and terrror warnings, but I never followed through.
And on a related note, when did you realize that your father(or father-figure) was, for the most part, full of shit?
Not to bash dads out there. I love mine in fact. But there is a crucial moment when you stop believing that your dad is all-knowing. And for 'some' of us, there is the moment when you realize that not only is he not all-knowing, but that he is, for the most part, full of shit.
Just something I've been thinking about. I think it's interesting how your trust in authority can be related to trust in your father or father-figure.
Take the poll, anecdotes are welcome.
